The Web Platform Services team was highlighted in the 2018 CIO Annual Report, continuing to provide best-in-class security, accessibility, and maintenance for campus websites and online resources.

With over 160 campus websites on the Open Berkeley managed website platform, the team implemented improvements to automation and monitoring technology that facilitates timely security and maintenance updates for all Open Berkeley sites, as well as regular releases that include accessibility improvements and sponsored features benefiting all sites on the platform.

The team has welcomed over 200 campus community members at ongoing monthly training and office hours and helped launch 11 campus websites in February alone.

API Director (and UC Berkeley CTO) Bill Allison said, "The web platform team's Open Berkeley service is critical in enabling UC Berkeley's many people to showcase their work on a platform that meets a high bar for accessibility and security. Open Berkeley websites cost less AND look great."

The focus on providing outstanding customer service and support is rewarded by positive feedback from campus customers, including Ben Perez with Campus Access Services in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, who wrote: "The Web Platform Services team are some of the best and most supportive people I've worked with on campus."
