Bill Allison - Department Director & University CTO
(personal homepage / LinkedIn)

In 2012, Bill created the Architecture, Platforms and Integration department to better connect the back office infrastructure services with the work of the Associate CIOs whose teams directly interface with Berkeley's students, faculty and staff. The goal was to simplify and modernize some of the morass of Berkeley's technology connections and applications and help everyone do their work more efficiently, nimbly, and less stressfully. We also launched services to ensure Berkeley's IT services are inclusive in their accessibility for people with disabilities, and initiated privacy transparency reporting. Our amazing team continues to develop more modern IT, service-oriented platform technologies to meet the demands of shifting academic needs more quickly -- a prototype for the "plug-and-play university". Bill also serves as Berkeley's CTO.
